The film is seen getting a low response at box office. Even the reviews tend to be average fo the movie. Released around 1700 total screens in India and has earned a decent amount of profit from opening day.
The previous part of the movie “Rock On” collected a lifetime amount of Rs 27.46 crores.

Rock on 2 1st day box office collection manages to collect an approximate domestic profit of Rs 2.02 crores net profit shared by Taran Adarsh. The further day’s income depends on the strong word of mouth if the movie is able to create good buzz among audiences.
Karan Johar directorial movie Ae Dil Hai Mushkil shows a slight effect on its business from this release while even Shivaay is seen collecting a decent income with some slight domestic drop.
Rock On 2 2nd Day Box Office Collection shows a slight hike earning Rs 2.41 crores on Saturday whereas yesterday the movie was seen with 2.02 crores.
On Saturday, it is seen collecting Rs 0.78 crores from morning shows while afternoon shows with hike gathered a profit of Rs 0.97 crores so far and the whole Day 2 profit goes with net 2.41 crores
So far, it registers 45% occupancy in multiplexes while 55% percent occupancy in single screens across the country on Saturday.
The film is made on a budget of 45 crores that includes Production Budget: 30 Crores & Prints & Advertising Cost: 15 Crore. If performed in the same way, it will be difficult for the film to recovers its investment. It is a musical drama film and the songs of the film were not seen impressing like the previous part.
Comparatively its a decent start at the box office than the previous one but it could have been better if government decision of the demonetization Rs 500 and 1,000 currency would have not occurred.
Shashank Arora, Shahana Goswami and Kumud Mishra in important roles. The worldwide collection of the movie also stays on a decent mark.
Film starring Farhan Akhtar, Prachi Desai, Arjun Rampal, Shraddha Kapoor, & Purab Kohli is seen suffering loss because of government decision on changing 500 & 1000 rupees notes.
